Information on Name Change to Social Justice, Equity, and Inclusion Center

Hello All,

In  summer 2020 the Multicultural Center went through a name change and a departmental shift! We are now known as the Social Justice, Equity, and Inclusion Center and are located under the Office of Student Life (OSL). We are excited to continue to work collaboratively with our Centers for Academic Excellence, and our other OSL Programs: Clubs & Organizations, Youth Educational Services, and Fraternity/Sorority Life

For more information, email and we can help you out!

The Social Justice, Equity, and Inclusion Center is a student led organization, utilizing the student voice to create programming that directly impacts and supports our diverse student population.

The Social Justice, Equity, & Inclusion Center (SJEIC) represents the 3rd pillar of the Office of Student Life (Pillar Information). The SJEIC was created out of student demand for a space to create community among a diverse student population. The SJEIC provides a space for students to develop the community they need in order to be successful at HSU.

Our Purpose: The Social Justice, Equity, & Inclusion Center (SJEIC) is a dynamic and inclusive learning community that supports students in their academic and personal journeys at HSU. We do this by creating community, a home away from home and a safe place to Explore, Experience, Express, Empower and Engage. The SJEIC  is committed to retention and student success by providing co-curricular opportunities for leadership development, social justice advocacy, identity exploration and cross-cultural learning experiences. We are a student-centered program that fosters acceptance and respect of all people.
